Figma plugin

The Stunt Double plugin brings actors into the Figma canvas. Select a frame and actors review it, run a checklist against it, or talk it through with you, and the findings land as numbered pins next to the design.

What it does

The plugin has four tabs:

  • Review. Select one or more frames and ask actors for design feedback. The plugin exports the frames and the reviewers judge the image. Click Place on canvas to draw numbered pins and a findings panel beside the frame, Resolve findings as you fix them, and click Re-check frame to ask the reviewers what is fixed. Open in dashboard takes you to the full review.
  • Checklists. Run one of the project's checklists against the selected frames and read the results.
  • Feedback. Create and triage feedback on the design, filtered to This file only or across the project.
  • Chat. Talk to one of your actors about the selected frames, with Attach frame snapshot to send the frame along.

Pick a project in the plugin's header first: reviews, checklists and feedback all belong to a project.

Before you start

  • A Stunt Double account with access to the workspace and project you want to work in.
  • Actors in the workspace. Reviews and chat need at least one actor. Create one in the dashboard if the plugin says No actors in this workspace yet.
  • A project. The plugin works inside a project, so create one in the dashboard first.

Connect the plugin

The plugin signs in through your browser, so it never asks for a password.

  1. Open the plugin in Figma and click Connect to Stunt Double. A browser tab opens and the plugin reads Approve the request in your browser. Waiting...
  2. In the browser, sign in to Stunt Double if you are not already. The Connect the Figma plugin page lists what the plugin will be able to do.
  3. Click Approve. The plugin switches to Connected to Stunt Double.

To cancel, click Deny in the browser or Cancel in the plugin.

What the plugin can access

When you approve, the plugin can:

  • See your workspaces, projects and actors
  • Run checklists and view run results
  • Create and triage feedback on your designs
  • Chat with your actors about selected frames

Approving issues a plugin token that lasts 90 days and is stored in Figma on your machine. The plugin can only reach app.stuntdouble.io and stuntdouble.io.

The plugin does not need the Figma workspace connection, and the connection does not need the plugin. Use either or both.

Disconnect

Click Sign out in the plugin. That removes the token from Figma on your machine. The token also expires on its own after 90 days, and the plugin asks you to connect again.

Troubleshooting

"The connect request expired. Try again." The browser approval took too long. Click Connect to Stunt Double again and approve within a few minutes.

"The request was denied." Someone clicked Deny in the browser. Start the connection again and click Approve.

The browser says the connect request is no longer valid. The request was already used or has expired. Return to Figma and start the connection again.

"Select one or more frames first." Reviews and checklists run on frames, not groups or pages. Select at least one frame on the canvas.

"Pick a project in the header before running a review." Choose a project from the plugin's header. If the list is empty, create a project in the dashboard.

"Could not reach Stunt Double." Check your network connection. Figma only lets the plugin talk to stuntdouble.io, so a network that blocks it will stop the plugin.
